Peso Pluma has 17 mentions at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards. Tito Double P has 15, Fuerza Regida 12, Karol G 9 (the most among women), Prince Royce 8, Bad Bunny 7 and Rosalía 6. Those are the figures from Billboard's finalist reveal on Sept. 9, as reported by Complex, ahead of the ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 22 at the James L. Knight Center in Miami (8 p.m. ET, Telemundo and Peacock).
The number that stands out is last year's. Bad Bunny led the field then with a record 27 mentions. He has seven now. The finalists are picked from chart performance between Sept. 13, 2025 and Sept. 5, 2026, using Luminate data, so the lists measure one year of charts, not a career.
Where the reggaeton race is
The all-genre headlines are mostly regional Mexican: Peso Pluma and Tito Double P's DINASTÍA is a Top Latin Album finalist, and "daño" and "dopamina" lead the song lists. Reggaeton's contest sits in the Latin Rhythm categories, which Latin Times lists this way:
- Latin Rhythm Artist, solo: Bad Bunny, Karol G, Omar Courtz, Ozuna, Rauw Alejandro.
- Latin Rhythm Artist, duo or group: Baby Rasta & Gringo, Gente de Zona, Jowell & Randy, W Sound, Wisin & Yandel.
- Latin Rhythm Song: Bizarrap & Daddy Yankee, "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 0/66"; Feid, "Se Lo Juro Mor"; J Balvin & Jay Wheeler, "Si Te Vas"; Ryan Castro, Kapo & Gangsta, "LA VILLA"; W Sound, Myke Towers & Ovy On The Drums, "5 Estrellas (W Sound 23)".
- Top Latin Rhythm Album: Beéle, BORONDO; Jay Wheeler, La Voz Favorita; Omar Courtz, Por Si Mañana No Estoy; Rauw Alejandro, Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0; Victor Mendivil, Tutankamon.
The same names show up at the Latin Grammys
Cross-checking against the Latin Grammy nominees announced Sept. 16, several of these finalists are in both races. That comparison is ours. Beéle's Borondo (5020 Rcrds Sessions) is a Latin Grammy finalist for Best Urban Music Album. Omar Courtz's "Por Si Mañana No Estoy" is up for Best Urban Song. Rauw Alejandro is a Latin Grammy finalist for Best Reggaeton Performance ("Contrabando," with Wisin and Ñengo Flow) and Best Urban Song ("Buenos Términos"), and his Cosa Nuestra: Capítulo 0 is a Billboard Latin Rhythm album finalist. Feid, Ryan Castro and Daddy Yankee's Bizarrap session are in both as well.
What else is on the night
This year adds a Fan Favorite Artist category decided by public vote at Telemundo.com/VOTA through Oct. 22, with the five most-mentioned artists in contention. The show has 47 categories. Billboard Latin Music Week runs in Miami Beach from Oct. 19 to 22, with Maluma, Pitbull, Fuerza Regida and Kany García among the participants.
One finalist has a separate tribute coming after this ceremony: the Latin Recording Academy honors Daddy Yankee as Person of the Year on Nov. 11 in Las Vegas.
