DJ Rico Sanchez, known as The Politician, has been playing internationally since the early 2010s. He started out touring Germany, London and Mumbai, and played the beach stages at Sunburn Festival in Goa. Residencies in Abu Dhabi followed, a night alongside Sean Paul at Klub 360 in Manama in 2015, dates in Melbourne with Omarion and Gabriel Antonio, and beach clubs in Jaco, Costa Rica. When Afrobeats broke globally he was in the middle of it, holding a residency at Carbon Club in Accra through 2017 and 2018. He headlined the spring and summer seasons at Aura in the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas across 2018 and 2019. Along the way: Pacha Ibiza in Dubai, DAER at the Hard Rock in Hollywood, Space in Miami, The Espy in Melbourne, the Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai and The Kennedy in Tampa. Rico is based in Atlanta, where he runs Rico Sanchez Entertainment and helped bring the dance parties back to the city's northside. He is a producer and label owner, an ASCAP member since 2014, and now part of the Parche House family out of Medellín. His house track with DJ Anthony Styles, “All Is Gone,” is on Spotify. On Yakaleo he hosts Vuelo 787, Fridays from 3 to 5.
