The Billboard Latin Music Awards were handed out on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, live on Telemundo and Peacock. Fuerza Regida was the big winner with eight awards, and "Marlboro Rojo" took Hot Latin Song of the Year, Streaming Song of the Year and Regional Mexican Song of the Year. DINASTÍA, by Peso Pluma and Tito Double P, won Top Latin Album of the Year. That is according to Telemundo's winners list.
In the Latin Rhythm categories, where reggaeton competes, the story was different.
Bad Bunny: seven awards, no new album
Bad Bunny won seven awards: Artist of the Year, Tour of the Year, Global 200 Latin Artist of the Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year (Male), Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year (Male), Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year (Solo) and Songwriter of the Year. He did it without a new studio album; his latest is still DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, from January 2025. The awards measure a year of charts, from Sept. 13, 2025, to Sept. 5, 2026, and his catalog kept playing all year.
Omar Courtz, the new name
Omar Courtz left with two awards: New Artist of the Year and Top Latin Rhythm Album of the Year for Por Si Mañana No Estoy, the February album featuring Ñengo Flow, Myke Towers, Dei V, ROA, Bad Gyal and Eladio Carrión. It is the same album that in September had songs on the charts in the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Colombia and Mexico at the same time.
The veterans got paid too
Bizarrap's session with Daddy Yankee, "Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 0/66," won Latin Rhythm Song of the Year. Wisin & Yandel won Latin Rhythm Artist of the Year, Duo or Group. Performers that night included Ozuna, Wisin, Kapo and Ivy Queen, according to Telemundo.
Karol G added four awards, including Fan Favorite Artist, a new category decided by public vote, and Latin Pop Song of the Year for "Coleccionando Heridas" with Marco Antonio Solís.
What's next
Several of these names compete again in a week. At the Latin Grammys on Thursday, Nov. 12, the Bizarrap and Daddy Yankee session is nominated for Best Urban Performance and Best Urban Song, and Omar Courtz's "Por Si Mañana No Estoy" is up for Best Urban Song. Bad Bunny is not in that show's four urban categories.
